Thing have been busy over here at the Winfield household. Chris has been traveling a lot, Charlie just turned 3 yesterday, and most importantly, we are preparing for an addition to the family!

You guessed it! We are having a baby! I have to say that Charlie knew before any of us. As soon as I became pregnant, he followed me around like crazy and when we slept he would curl up next to my belly with his arm on it like he was hugging it. Now I am a little too big for that!

We came back from the doctors today with a clean bill of health. We couldn’t be happier. We are due in late July and although we couldn’t get a perfect angle today we are about 90% sure it’s a girl. Based on the sonograms so far she has Chris’s personality. We’ve seen her lounging with her hands behind her head, punch back at the sonographer when the tech had to push down really hard to get a good shot, and finally get bored with all of us and stick her thumb in her mouth and go to sleep.

This was us at 8 weeks.

I have to get some pics of me now and post them soon because with each passing week it gets a little harder to see my feet. And climb the stairs. And resist chocolate.

So that’s what’s up with us. I will continue to post pics here as we take them.

I’ve never been a cat person, but this site makes me want one just so that I can take awesome pictures of them. I saw this and had to post it. It feels like the Internets are crazy lately, and this makes me laugh my butt off.

Oh how I would love to live in Anthropologie world…I am in love, complete unadulterated love with this jacket.

I want to wear it and then eat a snack on one of these plates,

and later drink some tea from this cup.

Although now my hair is light, and I think I need to redo all of my colors.

My husband likes to buy me flowers but he is really allergic to them. The drill is usually that they get delivered, we have them in the office or house for an hour or two and then they have to go outside.

We’ve got a big bouquet in a vase in front of the office today. People keep stopping in front to look at them. We’ve got a mini bet on whether the day will finish without someone a) stopping in and asking why they are there, or b) just taking them. I think I’ll stop by my mom’s tonight to let her have them.

If anyone out there knows of something as quick and easy to get delivered as flowers, please help a guy out.

Happiness on a Friday – 6/1

It’s Friday. That’s always a YAY!
Housekeeper came today. There is just no feeling like walking into a clean, like really clean, not just “straightened up” (the way I clean) house.
Mom is having a garage sale tomorrow. I get to go through my stuff tonight and de-clutter, and maybe make some cash on things we don’t want! I actually think that mom should get rid of that treadmill she’s got now and get a new one. Then I will be inclined to go over and get on it more.
I’ve been struggling with an issue on a client project at work. It’s been bothering me for a while and I’ve actually lost sleep over it. It’s a programming issue and today a solution was found. I am so happy. Huge weight lifted, happy client too.
I’ve been craving sushi lately and Chris suggested we get it for dinner tonight. He’s psychic sometimes.
And finally, Charlie never ceases to amaze me with what he will do for a laugh.

Happy Things – 5/31

Hoping to make this a regular post. Here are all the things that have gone on today that made me happy.

My co-worker Erika brought me a gardenia from her garden. It was completely unexpected and I love it.
Charlie came to my desk today because he hadn’t seen me in a while. It was like he wanted to remember I was there. He gave me great hugs and nuzzles when he finally found me.
I ate 5 munchkins at an office birthday party and they were all insanely delicious.
I ran 5 miles tonight. I’ve never done that before. It’s a huge deal.
Running 5 miles totally erased all the munchkin calories. Score!
I am loving the American verion of The Office. We were addicted to the Brisith version and were afraid to even give this one a chance. But we are loving it and its like a present at the end of every day to sit and watch one.
At this moment I have 34 items in my inbox. There have been times when that number has been 350.
My husband made my dinner (we do the zone chefs) and then he brought my dessert without even asking if I wanted it. I hate to ask for dessert or even to go get it and eat it by myself.
