Feedbag
When Chris and I first met in 2000 we worked at the same company. I was a smoker averaging about a pack a day and we would go out for a drink after work regularly. I would say that after work drink was probably the foundation of our relationship during those first few months. I lived in Queens, he lived in Cold Spring, we would walk across the street after work to the Roosevelt Hotel, right next to Grand Central, have a drink or two at the bar, and head on home.
Once we got past that shy beginning and moved on into a full fledged relationship we started taking care of ourselves. Out went the smokes, in came the gym. Out went fast food, in came grilled chicken, protein shakes, and steamed vegetables.
We started to lug all our food around in a big shopping bag which we affectionately referred to as “the feed bag”. Seven years later we are still lugging all our food around with us although lately we’ve been getting zone chef’s for convenience sake.
I was browsing online a couple of months ago and came across this:

A real feedbag! And it’s for a good cause. (It looks cute and its reversible too) With each purchase of a bag you feed a child in a starving country through the UN World Food Programme for one full year. I wish they had been around when I was looking for bridal party gifts because they would have been perfect. I ordered one and I absolutely love it. I think it makes a great gift for anyone, especially that kid who gets to eat every day.
